A scenic-view dome tent relies on its curved geometry and robust sealing to shed heavy rainfall efficiently. Our aluminum-framed dome employs multiwall polycarbonate panels cut to precise radii, creating continuous slopes that direct water flow toward the base perimeter. All panel joints use factory-applied EPDM gaskets compressed by aluminum pressure plates, ensuring watertight seams. Integrated stainless steel half-round gutters at the dome’s equator collect runoff and channel it through discrete downspouts hidden within the frame. The aluminum ribs supporting each panel are reinforced with internal stiffeners to resist dynamic water loads and wind-driven rain. A slight overhang at the base prevents splash-back, while the insulated floor panel system includes perimeter drainage channels leading to onsite stormwater connections. For extreme events, optional secondary polycarbonate skirts attach below the base ring, further diverting water away.
