Selecting the right foundation ensures stability and longevity for a backyard clear dome on an aluminum prefabricated frame. For level, load-bearing soil, we recommend a reinforced concrete ring beam or a grid of concrete piers set 1–1.2 m deep, matching the dome’s base ring bolt locations. For softer ground, insulated helical screw piles with integrated brackets provide frost protection and rapid installation without excavation. Alternatively, a compact gravel pad—300 mm of compacted crushed stone over geotextile—anchors the dome with galvanized ground screws, offering excellent drainage and low environmental impact. On wooden decks, our domes bolt to pre-installed aluminum support beams recessed into the deck structure.
