Achieving effective sound insulation in a dome cabin begins with a multi-layer envelope around the aluminum prefabricated structure. We sandwich high-density acoustic foam and mineral wool between the internal fiberglass-reinforced wall finishes and the external polycarbonate panels, creating a wall assembly with an STC rating of 35–40. To prevent vibration transmission, the inner wall finish is decoupled from the aluminum framing using resilient rubber isolators at each fixing point. Windows and door panels are double-glazed with laminated acoustic glass and include neoprene gaskets to seal gaps. For mechanical systems, quieter DC-fan ventilation units are mounted on vibration-damping pads, and duct silencers are integrated into each intake and exhaust path. Interior furnishings—carpets, heavy curtains, and upholstered furniture—absorb residual echo and noise reflections. All junctions are sealed with acoustic caulk, ensuring no sound leaks. In combination, these measures deliver a serene interior environment even in busy campsite settings.
