How to ensure thermal expansion is managed in ACP panel installation?
Thermal expansion of ACP panels—approximately 2.3 mm per meter length for each 100 °C change—must be accommodated to avoid buckling, warping, or joint failure. PRANCE addresses this through proper panel sizing, clip selection, and joint detailing. During installation, panels are mounted on adjustable sliding clips that allow lateral movement within predefined slots. This system secures panels firmly yet permits expansion and contraction without stress.
We also recommend control joints at regular intervals—typically every 6–9 m horizontally and vertically—depending on panel dimensions and expected temperature ranges. These reveal lines act as relief zones and maintain visual uniformity. Spiral rivets or elongated screw holes further allow panel edges to shift subtly.
