Preventing sag in polycarbonate shelter pods relies on a sturdy internal support framework. We use extruded aluminum ribs shaped to match the dome curvature, spaced at 600 mm intervals, which cradle the multiwall polycarbonate panels and resist deflection under snow or wind loads. Each rib connects to a central aluminum hub via stainless steel bolted joints, forming a geodesic grid that evenly distributes stresses. Cross-bracing cables tensioned between opposing ribs add rigidity, preventing lateral movement. The polycarbonate panels themselves are UV-stabilized and 8 mm thick, selected for high flexural strength and minimal creep under prolonged load. To further reduce sag risk, we apply a proprietary reinforcing interlayer between walls during panel fabrication, increasing panel stiffness by 20%. All connections are factory-torqued to specification, and our design is rated to withstand snow loads up to 150 kg/m².
