When installing sound-absorbing panels on the suspended ceiling grid, it is completely different from the traditional closed ceiling. The core of the sound absorption in the grid ceiling lies in "combination". It utilizes the scattering structure of the grid itself and combines the sound-absorbing materials behind it to reduce noise.
The open grille itself cannot completely block out sound. Therefore, sound-absorbing materials such as glass wool, rock wool or polyester fiber sound-absorbing cotton must be added to the back of it.
According to the acoustic requirements, it is recommended to use sound-absorbing cotton with a filling thickness ranging from 50mm to 100mm. The sound-absorbing cotton must be completely covered by the grid and must not be exposed below to prevent fiber shedding or moisture absorption.
If you are using soft sound-absorbing thin felt or lightweight sound-absorbing panels, you can directly fix them on the back of the grille.
The back of the grille is clean and dry. Use eco-friendly nail-free glue or special sound-absorbing board glue for spot coating or strip coating, and then press the sound-absorbing material flatly onto the back of the grille.
If the filling material of the sound-absorbing cotton is heavy or has a large area, it cannot be supported solely by the grating. Instead, the grating's suspension system needs to be utilized.
Bind galvanized iron wire onto the hangers of the grille or use special fittings to lift and fix the sound-absorbing cotton above the grille.
This method is not only stable but also allows for an air layer to be maintained between the sound-absorbing cotton and the original floor, further enhancing the sound absorption effect.
