PRANCE metalwork is a leading manufacturer of metal ceiling and facade systems.
While a standard, solid aluminum ceiling provides sound reflection similar to gypsum, its true acoustic potential is realized through perforation. Perforated aluminum ceilings are far superior for acoustic insulation and sound absorption than solid gypsum board. A solid, hard surface like gypsum tends to reflect sound waves, which can lead to echo and high reverberation times in a room, making it noisy and unpleasant. This is especially noticeable in large open spaces, offices, or halls. Our perforated aluminum ceilings are engineered for acoustic control. The tiny holes in the panels allow sound waves to pass through them and into an acoustical fleece or mineral wool insulation pad placed in the ceiling plenum above. This system effectively absorbs sound energy instead of reflecting it, dramatically reducing noise levels and improving speech clarity. This makes perforated aluminum ceilings the ideal solution for environments where sound quality is important, such as offices, classrooms, auditoriums, and mosques, offering a level of acoustic comfort that gypsum cannot match.
