PRANCE metalwork is a leading manufacturer of metal ceiling and facade systems.
Aluminum tongue-and-groove ceiling planks feature complementary profile edges—a protruding “tongue” on one side and a matching “groove” on the other—allowing panels to interlock firmly. During installation, the tongue of each new plank slides into the groove of the preceding panel at a slight angle, then pivots down until the tongues fully seat into the grooves. This action creates a tight seam that conceals gaps and fasteners, producing a continuous visual plane. Some designs include an integral locking ridge within the groove that snaps onto the tongue, preventing lateral movement and ensuring panel retention without visible screws. The interlock tolerances are factory-controlled to under 0.5 mm, guaranteeing consistent joint appearance and minimal light penetration between planks. For curved or radius installations, specialized flexible tongue-and-groove profiles accommodate bending without compromising the seal. This reliable mechanical lock makes aluminum ceiling installations quick, secure, and visually immaculate.
