PRANCE metalwork is a leading manufacturer of metal ceiling and facade systems.
Aluminum composite material (ACM) panels feature two aluminum skins bonded to a central core, and the choice of core critically influences insulation. Standard polyethylene (PE) cores offer minimal R-value, so for optimal thermal efficiency specify ACM with a mineral-filled or PIR (polyisocyanurate) core, which can deliver R-values up to R-8 per inch. The continuous aluminum skins provide weather protection and act as vapor barriers when sealed properly. When combined with cavity insulation and thermal-break mounting clips, ACM assemblies form a high-performance rainscreen. This layered approach minimizes thermal bridging and reduces heating and cooling loads. Additionally, the thin profile of ACM panels allows architects to maximize usable floor space while achieving demanding energy-code requirements for facades and oversized ceiling cassettes.
