PRANCE metalwork is a leading manufacturer of metal ceiling and facade systems.
Coastal environments present unique challenges for ceiling materials due to high humidity, salt-laden air, and UV exposure. Prefinished aluminum ceiling planks are engineered to withstand these harsh conditions with robust corrosion resistance. The base aluminum alloy features low-reactivity elements, while the factory-applied powder or fluoropolymer coatings—conforming to AAMA 2605 standards—provide a barrier against salt spray and ultraviolet degradation. Independent salt-spray testing often reaches 1,000 hours or more without visible blistering or corrosion, far exceeding typical marine atmosphere requirements. Additionally, anodized finishes create an oxide layer that further enhances aluminum’s natural resistance to oxidation. Maintenance involves periodic rinsing with fresh water to remove salt buildup, and the planks can tolerate mild detergents without compromising the finish. With proper installation and occasional cleaning, prefinished aluminum planks can maintain their aesthetic and structural performance for decades, making them ideal for coastal facades, outdoor overhangs, and wet-area ceilings.
