PRANCE metalwork is a leading manufacturer of metal ceiling and facade systems.
Aluminum ceilings are highly effective in reducing noise and improving the acoustic environment within a building, especially when custom acoustic designs are chosen. Aluminum panels can be transformed into high-performance acoustic absorbers through two key steps. First, micro-perforations are created on the surface of the metal panel. These perforations allow sound waves to pass through rather than bounce off, reducing echo and overall noise in the space. Second, a layer of sound-absorbing material, such as acoustic fleece or mineral wool, is applied to the back of the perforated panels. This layer absorbs the sound energy passing through the perforations and converts it into heat, thus preventing it from escaping back into the room. This combination of perforation and absorbing material makes acoustic aluminum ceilings an ideal solution for spaces that require precise acoustic control, such as open offices, lecture halls, airports, and restaurants. They not only reduce noise levels but also improve speech clarity, creating a quieter, more focused environment.
