PRANCE metalwork is a leading manufacturer of metal ceiling and facade systems.
Achieving perfect alignment in a drop ceiling requires careful pre‐installation planning. Start by determining the reference plane—often the bottom of light fixtures or air diffusers—and snap chalk lines in two intersecting directions on walls. Install perimeter wall angles along these lines using spirit levels to confirm plumb. Hang main runners from calibrated suspension wires, adjusting each to the same height with turnbuckles or crimps. Use a laser level to verify consistent elevation across the grid. Insert cross tees into factory‐notched slots, ensuring tight, square intersections. Periodically lay full‐size aluminum panels to check for uniform reveal gaps. This methodical approach ensures that your anodized or powder-coated panels sit perfectly flush, avoiding misalignment that can be magnified in large commercial spaces.
