PRANCE metalwork is a leading manufacturer of metal ceiling and facade systems.
High-rise ACP (Aluminum Composite Panel) facades face intense wind-driven rain and UV exposure. Water resistance begins with panel selection: choose fire-rated, PVDF-coated panels with concealed joints. During installation, apply a continuous silicone or polyurethane sealant in all horizontal and vertical panel seams, ensuring full adhesion. Incorporate metal or PVC flashings at all transitions—windows, balconies, and soffits—to direct water away from the substructure. Behind the ACP, install a rainscreen cavity with a ventilated air gap of at least 25 mm; this gap allows any infiltrated water to drain down and exit through weep holes at the base. Use closed-cell backer rods within joints to control sealant depth and prevent three-sided adhesion. Finally, integrate a high-quality weather barrier (e.g., breather membrane) on the sheathing beneath the rainscreen. Regular maintenance—inspecting sealants and flashings biennially—ensures long-term watertight performance for your high-rise aluminum facade system.
