When comparing aluminum ceilings to moisture-resistant paper ceilings (such as "green" gypsum boards), the advantages of aluminum as a permanent and superior solution become clear. Damp-resistant paper ceilings are essentially gypsum boards with a paper layer treated with wax to reduce water absorption. While superior to regular gypsum, they are not completely impervious to water. With constant exposure to high humidity or direct leakage, these panels will eventually deteriorate, as their gypsum core can disintegrate and fungi can grow on or behind their surface. They are a "resistant" solution, not a "proof" one. In contrast, our aluminum ceilings offer a 100% waterproof solution. Aluminum is a non-porous material and is completely unaffected by water or steam. It will not rust, rot, swell, or provide an environment for mold growth. This makes it the ideal choice for more demanding applications such as bathrooms, steam rooms, swimming pools, and areas requiring frequent washing. While paper panels provide temporary protection, aluminum provides permanent protection and complete peace of mind from all moisture-related problems.
