PRANCE metalwork is a leading manufacturer of metal ceiling and facade systems.
A suspended T Bar system’s load limit is governed by the profile gauge, grid span, and suspension detailing. Standard 0.7 mm aluminum tees on 1200 mm spans safely carry self-weight plus light fixtures up to approximately 5 kg/m². Upgrading to heavy-duty 1.0 mm tees or reducing spans to 600 mm can increase capacity to 10–15 kg/m², accommodating denser acoustic panels or integrated services. Hanger wires—galvanized or stainless steel aircraft cables—should be spaced per manufacturer charts (no more than 1200 mm for main runners) and sized with a safety factor of 3–4×. Cross tee insertion points also bear cumulative load from adjacent bays; thus, proper locking clips or bolster clips enhance joint strength. Always refer to ASTM C635 load tables and perform site-specific mockups for non-standard configurations. Accurate load assessment ensures grid stability and panel alignment under operational conditions.
