What is a curtain wall system?
A curtain wall system is a lightweight, non-structural cladding system designed to protect buildings from external elements such as wind, rain, and temperature changes. It is typically made of aluminum frames and glass panels, forming an external façade that enhances aesthetics while providing thermal and acoustic insulation. Unlike load-bearing walls, curtain walls do not support the building’s structural weight but are instead attached to the building’s main framework. Curtain walls can be classified into stick systems (assembled on-site) and unitized systems (pre-fabricated off-site).
