PRANCE metalwork is a leading manufacturer of metal ceiling and facade systems.
A fire rated ceiling system is a coordinated assembly of ceiling panels or tiles, suspension grid, hangers, and perimeter trim that has been tested under standardized fire‐resistance protocols (UL 263 or ASTM E119). The system is engineered to resist fire for a specified duration—typically 1-hour or 2-hour—helping to contain flames, limit heat transfer, and maintain structural integrity between building compartments. Aluminum fire-rated ceiling systems leverage noncombustible metal panels or tiles with fire-resistant cores alongside an aluminum grid designed to withstand elevated temperatures. Fire-rated fixtures, fire collars, and intumescent sealants are included to seal penetrations and openings. Each component is listed in a fire-resistance directory by listing number, confirming that the complete system performs as required. These systems are specified in areas requiring horizontal fire separations, such as corridors, stair enclosures, and mechanical rooms, ensuring code compliance and occupant safety.
