PRANCE metalwork is a leading manufacturer of metal ceiling and facade systems.
It is often referred to as a vaulted ceiling, which is a ceiling design type that arches or angling up and creates the impression of adding height and space. A vaulted ceiling, in contrast to a flat ceiling, generally has more of an angle or a curve and can add a great deal of interest to the architecture of the room. Vaulted ceilings also come in a few different types:
Ribbed Vault: A traditional design with crossing ribs creating a complex pattern.
Barrel Vault: A barrel vault is an extended style of a semicircular arch in the shape of a tunnel.
Coffered Vault: A ceiling with recessed panels that create a grid-like pattern.
Cathedral vault: A vault having two equal sloping sides meeting at a central ridge, often found in churches and other large spaces.
Vaulted ceilings are often used in living rooms, dining rooms and entryways to create a feeling of openness, add visual interest and enhance light flow in the room. In areas where aluminum facades or aluminum ceilings are present, this is a design which has the ability to combine modern material with a classic architectural form for a striking appearance.
