PRANCE metalwork is a leading manufacturer of metal ceiling and facade systems.
Aluminum composite panel (ACP) cladding significantly reduces maintenance demands compared to painted medium-density fiberboard (MDF) boards in facade and ceiling applications. ACP panels arrive from the factory with high-performance coatings—such as PVDF or polyurethane—that resist chalking, fading, and staining for 20+ years. Periodic cleaning with mild detergent and rinse water restores the finish without sanding or repainting. Painted MDF, by contrast, relies on surface paint layers that degrade under UV exposure, moisture, and abrasion. Chips, cracks, and moisture ingress into MDF cores necessitate repeated sanding, priming, and re-coating every 3–5 years, especially in high-traffic or outdoor environments. ACP’s non-porous aluminum surface also resists mold and mildew growth, whereas MDF panels absorb water, leading to swelling and microbial decay. For aluminum ceiling systems in commercial interiors—such as lobbies or retail spaces—ACP’s smooth, seamless panels minimize dust accumulation and simplify cleaning routines. Additionally, individual ACP panels can be removed and replaced if damaged, without repainting adjacent elements. With its factory-applied durable finish and modular repairability, ACP delivers a maintenance-friendly solution that outlasts and outperforms painted MDF boards.
