PRANCE metalwork is a leading manufacturer of metal ceiling and facade systems.
Heavy aluminum ceiling panels—especially those thicker than 1.5 mm or spanning large areas—require suspension systems beyond standard T-bar grids. Reinforced steel carrier profiles (C-channels or U-channels) offer greater rigidity and load capacity. These carriers can be direct-fixed to overhead structure with adjustable stainless steel hanger wires spaced per manufacturer load tables. For irregular ceilings or vaulted applications, stainless steel cable hangers with turnbuckles allow fine height adjustment and accommodate panel weight with minimal deflection. Another option is clip-in aluminum purlins: these extruded rails bolt directly to structural joists, and panels snap into place, eliminating grid weight and providing continuous support. When selecting hangers or rails, always consult product load charts and include a safety factor of at least 2×. Ensure all connectors—bolts, clips, and wires—are compatible with aluminum to prevent galvanic corrosion (e.g., use aluminum or stainless steel hardware). Properly engineered suspension will maintain level, secure panels and simplify future adjustments or renovations.
