PRANCE metalwork is a leading manufacturer of metal ceiling and facade systems.
This is known as "decoupling" and is quite effective if you are trying to soundproof an aluminum ceiling by breaking up the sound waves from getting to the ceiling surface. Adding mass and decoupling is one such effective strategy. You can install mass-loaded vinyl (MLV) or acoustic panels under the aluminum ceiling, which serve as a sound-blocking barrier. Another option is resilient channels or sound isolation clips, which decouple the ceiling from the structure of the building, thus reducing vibrations and sound transfer. Another way to absorb sound is to place insulating materials like glass wool or mineral wool between the ceiling panels and the roof. For example, aluminum ceilings are highly durable and corrosion-resistant, but in some cases additional soundproofing treatments may be needed to meet a space's desired acoustic performance. The trick is to use the appropriate materials and muffle-installation that compliments sound isolation without sacrificing the look of the aluminum ceiling.
