How to install a drop ceiling?

To install a drop ceiling is to make a framework of intersecting strips held by and suspended from that existing ceiling. The first step is to mount (using brackets or wires) a perimeter track along the walls, to hold the grid. Then attach the main support rails (tees) to the ceiling using wires or hangers. In the grid framework, drop ceiling tiles are then simply placed. Make sure tiles fit properly and firmly. Drop ceilings are a good way of both concealing pipes, wires, and ductwork while at the same time providing easy access to fix or change things.
