1. Should a large project use a local manufacturer or an international one?
It depends which risk dominates. Local supply shortens freight and simplifies after-sales support. International manufacturers frequently offer greater customization capacity and better pricing at volume. On large custom packages, capacity and engineering support usually decide it rather than distance.
2. How much production capacity does a large ceiling package need?
Divide the area by the available program months, then confirm the manufacturer's committed monthly output clears that with margin. A 40,000 square meter ceiling across an eight-month program needs at least 5,000 square meters per month of dedicated capacity, before allowing anything for approvals, sampling, and shipping.
3. Do all metal ceiling manufacturers produce custom panels?
No. Many work primarily from standard catalogs, with customization limited to color and module size inside existing tooling. Genuine custom capability means bespoke perforation patterns, curved and hyperbolic geometry, non-standard formats, and project-specific profiles, which requires different equipment and different engineering.
4. What certifications should a manufacturer hold for international projects?
For Europe, CE marking under EN 13964, the harmonized standard for suspended ceilings. For the United States, ICC-ES evaluation and fire testing to ASTM E84. ISO 9001 applies across markets. Environmental credits generally need EPDs or recycled content documentation rather than a certificate.
5. Can panels from different manufacturers be mixed on one project?
Possible, but generally unwise. Color matching across manufacturers is unreliable, edge profiles and grid tolerances differ, and third-party test documentation usually covers a complete assembly rather than a panel in isolation. Mixing can therefore invalidate the fire or seismic evidence for the system as installed.
