Shopping Mall Metal Facade Design Project
For this shopping mall facade project, the client required an original facade design to create a distinctive exterior identity and enhance the commercial building's visual appeal. The design needed to combine modern curved forms with customized metal elements, creating a facade appearance that was both recognizable and adaptable to different design approaches.
PRANCE provided original facade design services and developed four design options based on the client's requirements. By applying different aluminum panel types, patterns, and surface treatments, the proposed designs explored various ways to shape the facade character while maintaining a consistent visual language throughout the building exterior.

Client Requirements for the Metal Facade Design
The client requested a modern, distinctive facade design to strengthen the shopping mall's visual identity and create a memorable exterior impression.
Curved metal elements and customized aluminum panels were selected as key design elements to create a dynamic facade appearance. The design also required flexibility in pattern selection and surface treatments, allowing different visual approaches while maintaining a consistent overall style.
Integration with glass curtain walls was also considered to balance decorative effects with practical facade requirements, while creating attractive light and shadow effects throughout the day and night.
Option A: Geometric Aluminum Mesh Panel Facade
This option applied aluminum mesh panels to create a semi-transparent facade for the shopping mall.
The aluminum mesh panels are applied to the central facade area, allowing natural light to pass through during the day and creating subtle lighting effects at night. Hyperbolic panels are arranged between the mesh sections, creating flowing lines that connect different facade areas and enhance the overall visual movement.
Combined with glass curtain walls, the different facade elements create a balance between solid and transparent surfaces, giving the shopping mall exterior a clean and modern appearance.
Option B: Decorative Carved Aluminum Panel Facade
In this design option, carved aluminum panels are used as the main decorative element of the facade, adding customized patterns and detailed surface features. The cut-out patterns create different levels of openness while allowing light to pass through the metal surface.
Combined with the surrounding curved aluminum panels and glass curtain walls, the carved panels create a contrast between solid metal surfaces and transparent areas, enhancing the overall facade appearance.
Option C: Patterned Carved Aluminum Panel Facade
The artistic pattern panel designs create a more continuous decorative surface across the facade. The repeated patterns provide a consistent visual effect and create a different style compared with detailed carved designs.
Integrated with curved aluminum panels and glass curtain walls, the patterned aluminum screen adds decorative details to the facade while maintaining a clean and balanced exterior appearance.
Option D: Parametric Perforated Aluminum Panel Facade
Customized perforated aluminum panels with varying opening patterns create a dynamic facade surface in this design option. Different perforation ratios, opening sizes, and spacing arrangements create changes in visual density across the metal panels.
Curved aluminum panels create flowing lines across the facade, shaping the overall visual direction of the design. The perforated aluminum panels are integrated between these curved elements, while the glass curtain walls introduce transparent surfaces that enhance the openness of the exterior.
