ACP delamination typically results from moisture ingress, incompatible materials, or improper adhesive application. Start with substrate preparation: ensure backing walls or framing are perfectly flat within ±2 mm over a 2 m span to avoid panel stress. Use only adhesives and sealants recommended by the ACP manufacturer, and observe specified ambient and panel temperature ranges during installation—ideally between 5–35 °C. Maintain minimum sealant bead depth (4–6 mm) and allow full cure time (typically 24–48 hours) before exposing panels to rain. Select backer rods made of closed-cell foam to block moisture from entering the sealant joint. Avoid using products containing solvents or plasticizers that may react with the ACP core. Install a ventilated rainscreen cavity to allow trapped moisture to evaporate. Finally, schedule a mock-up section and accelerated aging test (e.g., heat and moisture cycling) to validate assembly performance before full-scale application. Adhering to these steps minimizes the risk of delamination over the building’s lifespan.
