PRANCE metalwork is a leading manufacturer of metal ceiling and facade systems.
Ceiling sag in T Bar systems often arises from exceeding load limits, using undersized grid components, or inadequate suspension. Aluminum tees bending under heavy panels, light fixtures, or accumulated debris create visible bowing. To prevent this, first verify that the grid profiles meet the required gauge (minimum 0.7 mm for heavy‐duty duty). Follow manufacturer guidelines for maximum load per meter and hanger wire spacing—typically no more than 1200 mm for main runners. Add intermediate hangers beneath heavy fixtures or acoustic treatments. Use stainless steel aircraft cables with crimps sized for at least four times the expected load. Periodic cleaning prevents dust accumulation, which adds weight. Finally, choose aluminum alloys with high modulus of elasticity to resist bending. Strict adherence to load charts and installation protocols ensures a flat, durable ceiling over the long term.
