The optimal substrate for ACM panels in aluminum facade and ceiling systems is an aluminum framing assembly engineered to support loads, maintain alignment, and accommodate thermal movement. For exterior facades, vertical aluminum mullions spaced per wind-load calculations connect to building structure. Horizontal rails (transoms) attach to mullions, forming a grid to which ACM panels fasten via concealed clips or through-fasteners. This rainscreen framing provides drainage, ventilation, and structural support.
Interior ceilings use suspended aluminum T-bar grids or custom support channels. Main runners and cross tees create module sizes matching panel dimensions (e.g., 600×600 mm or 1200×600 mm).
