The facade of the Yibin Wuliangye Industrial Park project features a modern exterior combining aluminum panels and glass curtain walls. To address the challenges of customizing these components for the complex building structure, the project team implemented 3D laser scanning technology for precision measurement. This approach ensured accurate manufacturing and efficient installation, achieving both enhanced aesthetics and improved functional performance for the commercial and office complex.

The key challenges in this project stemmed from the unique geometry of the canopy and the need for precision throughout the measurement, production, and installation processes.
The facade area required precise measurement and installation of aluminum panels and glass curtain walls, and traditional
measurement methods were inadequate for this project.
The aluminum panels and glass curtain walls had to be custom-designed to match the building's geometry, ensuring the correct size, shape, and alignment with the facade.
To overcome these challenges, the project team utilized 3D laser scanning technology in combination with custom-designed aluminum panels and glass curtain walls, ensuring high precision and efficient construction throughout the project.
3D laser scanning technology was used to fully scan the building’s facade, capturing precise data from all areas of the structure. This data helped the project team understand the building’s shape in detail, providing a digital model for further planning and design.
Based on the data from the 3D scan, a detailed digital model of the building was created, which allowed the design team to optimize the design of the aluminum panels and glass curtain walls. This model ensured that the custom designs were tailored to the building's exact shape, reducing the risk of errors in manufacturing and installation.
The use of 3D laser scanning technology not only improved construction accuracy but also enhanced on-site safety. Unlike traditional manual methods, which often require workers to measure at heights or in hazardous areas, 3D scanning allows engineers to remotely capture accurate data from a safe distance. This reduces worker exposure to dangerous environments and minimizes errors, rework, and adjustments, further improving site safety.
Aluminium panels are manufactured to precise specifications based on 3D scanning data and design requirements. Crafted from corrosion-resistant, weatherproof aluminium, they conform seamlessly to building facade structures, minimising on-site adjustments and material wastage.
