PRANCE metalwork is a leading manufacturer of metal ceiling and facade systems.
The project is a high-end eco-tourism resort planned for development on a prime investment site located in Al-Shafa, Taif, Saudi Arabia. Surrounded by strong natural landscape conditions and open views of the mountainous terrain, the site offers strong potential for a distinctive nature-based tourism destination. The project is positioned as a luxury resort that combines natural scenery with recreational and hospitality functions, responding to the growing demand for domestic tourism in the Kingdom while maintaining a strong focus on landscape quality, spatial experience, and environmental integration.
PRANCE is involved in the design development of different functional areas across the resort, including accommodation zones, public facilities, and landscape-related spatial planning. The work focuses on translating the overall concept into site-responsive design solutions that support both user experience and practical implementation across varied terrain conditions.

PRANCE team visited the project site to evaluate on-site conditions and ensure the design direction responds accurately to the actual environment.
Our team also held face-to-face technical discussions with the client on site. Each initial design requirement was reviewed in detail to clarify expectations and technical needs, translating the concept into a clear and implementable direction.
The client's main priorities can be summarized into three core requirements.
The resort design need to consider the uneven topography and varying site conditions, allowing different building types to be integrated with minimal land disturbance.
All units include private outdoor areas to support daily leisure activities and strengthen the connection with the natural environment.
PRANCE's design focuses on low-impact development and the integration of the overall resort experience. Buildings, landscape, and supporting facilities are coordinated to embed different functional areas into the natural terrain and site structure, forming a unified resort spatial system.
The accommodation area is divided into two zones according to site conditions: a varied terrain zone and a farm area. Different building types and layout strategies are applied to each zone to match the site conditions and functional needs.
This area includes significant elevation changes. Space capsule units and other modular housing types are applied as the main building solutions. These modular structures are highly adaptable, reducing the need for extensive earthworks and effectively accommodating the complex topography. The architectural layout follows the natural contours of the land, thereby minimizing disruption to the existing landscape.
To meet the client's privacy requirements, the project controls the spacing between units, uses a staggered layout, and introduces vegetation as screening. These measures reduce direct sightlines between units and help each unit maintain a more private living environment.
The farm area is relatively flat terrain. A combination of timber cabins and dome structures design is used to create a more varied accommodation experience.
Timber cabins provide a stable and comfortable living environment, while dome structures introduce spatial diversity and visual character, enriching the overall accommodation offering.
For privacy control, building orientation, offset positioning, and natural vegetation are used to reduce direct visual connections between units. For units with private pools or outdoor bathtubs, increased spacing and landscape screening further enhance privacy.
Each room is design with an independent outdoor living space, extending indoor living into the natural environment.
In daily use, these outdoor areas support flexible activities such as simple relaxation, family barbecues, light dining, and small gatherings with friends and family. Movement between indoor and outdoor spaces is continuous, without clear separation, creating a more relaxed and open holiday experience.
The design provides a closer connection to nature in the guest experience. Guests can directly access outdoor living areas from their units and enjoy a private, natural setting, enhancing overall comfort and the quality of stay.
In the public and leisure spaces, our design focus on everyday resort use and maintain a close connection with the surrounding landscape.
Designed as a glass pavilion, the café features expansive transparent facades that not only maximize natural light intake but also create a bright, airy interior atmosphere throughout the day. The extensive use of glass blurs the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces, seamlessly integrating the surrounding landscape into the interior experience.
As a daily relaxation spot within the resort, the café caters to the needs of receiving visitors, holding informal meetings, and enjoying casual meals, while also providing a comfortable and pleasant indoor environment suitable for guests to relax for extended periods.
Natural light, surrounding greenery, and changing outdoor views are integrated into the daily use of the space, creating a calm and open atmosphere where guests can sit, rest, or gather while staying visually connected to the landscape.
The children's play area is designed with safe, eco-friendly materials and soft flooring systems to create a secure environment for daily use. The layout keeps the play zones open and flexible, allowing different activity zones to be organized within a natural setting.
Shaded seating areas are placed around the perimeter to provide resting points for parents and guardians, ensuring continuous proximity to the play space. The spatial arrangement maintains clear visibility across the area, supporting easy supervision while allowing children to move and play freely in an open outdoor environment.
Our team was also responsible for the surrounding landscape design, including greenery, pathways, and outdoor resting areas, ensuring a consistent design language across the resort while supporting a relaxed, nature-oriented guest experience.
The landscape links pathways, gardens, resting areas, and open spaces into a continuous outdoor setting. It creates a calm and walkable environment across the resort, allowing guests to naturally move through different areas while staying close to the surrounding nature.
Also, a low-intensity lighting strategy is applied throughout the site. It supports safe use at night while maintaining a calm and relaxed atmosphere for outdoor activities, allowing the landscape to remain visually soft and closely connected to the natural environment.
