PRANCE metalwork is a leading manufacturer of metal ceiling and facade systems.
The Wenjiahe Tourism Centre, situated within China, features a custom-designed aluminium panel roof that combines practicality with aesthetic appeal. The roof's form resembles a Monstera deliciosa. For this project, we provided advanced design and manufacturing services, employing 3D measurement technology to ensure precise panel alignment and exceptional performance, thereby meeting both design aesthetics and durability requirements.
Applied Products:
Aluminum Panels
Application Scope:
Roof of the building
Included Services:
3D laser scanning, planning product drawings, selecting materials, processing, manufacturing, and providing technical guidance, installation drawings.
This project presented several challenges, primarily due to the complexity of the roof's design:
The roof's irregular curves and unique turtle-back leaf shape posed difficulties for traditional measurement methods. These methods were unable to capture the precise details required for such a complex structure.
Each aluminum panel needed to be tailored to fit the exact curvature of the roof. This added complexity to both the design and fabrication processes, requiring high precision in both stages.
The unique design meant the aluminum panels had to be installed with high precision to ensure the curves of the roof were accurately represented and aligned.
To tackle these challenges, PRANCE team used 3D laser scanning technology, along with custom-designed aluminum panels, to deliver a high-precision and efficient construction solution.
The 3D laser scanning machine captured detailed data of the roof's intricate geometry. By creating a highly accurate digital model of the roof, the design and production teams were able to visualize the exact dimensions and curvature of the structure, ensuring that the aluminum panels would fit perfectly.
With the 3D accurate data, each aluminum panel was custom-designed to match the exact specifications of the roof. This precision ensured that no panel was misaligned or out of place, achieving a seamless, visually appealing result.
The application of 3D scanning reduced human error and significantly shortened the design and construction timelines. By eliminating the need for rework due to measurement inaccuracies, the project was completed more efficiently.
Traditional manual measurements often required workers to access high areas, increasing safety risks. With 3D scanning, all necessary data was collected remotely, eliminating the need for workers to enter dangerous zones and improving overall safety.
The choice of aluminum for the Wenjiahe Tourism Center's roof provided a range of key benefits:
Aluminium's inherent corrosion resistance makes it an ideal choice for the Wenjiahe Tourism Centre, a structure exposed to diverse weather conditions. It withstands natural erosion without compromising structural integrity.
This leaf-shaped roof required a material that was both lightweight for easy handling and strong enough to support the design. Aluminum's strength-to-weight ratio made it the perfect choice, providing the necessary structural support without adding unnecessary weight.
The versatility of aluminum allowed the roof to achieve its complex leaf design. Its surface can be customized with different finishes and colors, giving the building a sleek, contemporary appearance that fits well with the overall design.
With its resistance to corrosion and environmental wear, the aluminum roof requires minimal upkeep. This not only reduces long-term maintenance costs but also ensures the roof remains in optimal condition for years to come, supporting the center’s long-term functionality.
