PRANCE metalwork is a leading manufacturer of metal ceiling and facade systems.
This is a significant international project that aligns with the national leadership's strategy to deepen cooperation and promote friendly ties in Sino-African collaboration under the "Belt and Road" initiative. It leverages the economic strengths of both parties to enhance the mutual trade value and embodies a grand and far-reaching plan for joint development.
PRANCE is honored to have received recognition and trust from our homeland. We are proud to contribute to the construction of Bole Airport in Ethiopia, showcasing the responsibility and commitment inherent in our Chinese and PRANCE products.

The challenges faced by this project include:
Unlike standard grilles, the uniquely shaped grille requires careful consideration of connection points at various locations due to its complex geometry. Additionally, its non-standard design requires further planning to ensure proper installation.
As the project site is located in a remote area, special attention must be given to product transportation. Measures are required to mitigate potential unforeseen issues, particularly by ensuring adequate packaging and protection of the finished products.
This type of geometric design, especially with curved square channels, places high demands on craftsmanship and technical expertise. PRANCE adheres to strict quality standards and carefully controls every detail—such as edges, angles, and lengths—to ensure dimensional accuracy within millimeter-level tolerances.
By maintaining high internal requirements throughout the production process, PRANCE ensures consistent product quality and precise execution, even for complex and non-standard geometric designs.
With extensive experience in long-distance and international shipping, PRANCE implemented comprehensive protective measures for this project. Each product was carefully packaged to ensure full protection during international long-haul transportation.
Taking into account Ethiopia’s climate, where sunshine is prevalent throughout most of the year, the design incorporates a tempered glass roof structure to maximize natural daylight while maintaining transparency and openness.
The tempered glass structure is complemented by PRANCE’s wavy square tube ceiling, creating a harmonious integration of architectural structure and interior ceiling design.
Sunlight passes through the glass roof and filters through the perforated, wave-like ceiling, softening the light and transforming it into flowing, ribbon-like patterns that change dynamically throughout the day.
As the sun’s angle shifts, the light bands within the atrium appear structured and orderly at certain moments, while at other times they stretch and merge, forming a poetic interplay of light and shadow that enhances the visual experience of the airport hall.

PRANCE takes comprehensive measures to protect each finished product throughout the transportation process.
To ensure that all products remain undamaged during long-distance shipping, high-resilience, thick plastic packaging is used to achieve a secure and protective fit.
In addition, environmentally friendly composite wooden crates are applied for overall transportation. Inside these crates, additional partitions made from the same wooden material are installed, with their layout designed based on mechanical analysis to enhance structural stability and ensure the safety and protection of the products.
Beyond the custom curved metal baffles in the main atrium, PRANCE supplied a variety of metal ceiling solutions across other areas of Bole International Airport. These applications reflect PRANCE’s ability to deliver coordinated ceiling solutions within a single large-scale project, ensuring visual consistency while meeting the functional and performance requirements of different spaces. Each ceiling system was selected and implemented in accordance with the specific design intent and operational needs of the airport.
PRANCE’s Metal Carving Panels enable the integration of custom artistic elements into architectural designs. In this installation at Bole Airport, the panels feature intricate patterns and bespoke designs, enhancing the visual character of ceilings and walls. The precision carving allows for detailed and sophisticated finishes, adding unique visual interest to the space while meeting design and performance requirements.
This installation showcases the integration of functional and decorative ceiling elements. The Open Ceiling Square Lay-in system provides a clean, accessible, and modular ceiling solution, while the strategically placed Metal Carving Panels serve as decorative focal points. This combination enables both practical ceiling performance and visual interest, offering a versatile approach suitable for different areas of the airport.
At Bole Airport, the linear design of PRANCE’s Metal Baffle Ceilings is complemented by the detailed patterns of Metal Carving Panels, creating visual variation and texture across the ceiling. The baffles provide directionality and acoustic performance, while the carved panels add decorative detail. These images illustrate how this combination enhances different areas of the airport, providing both functional benefits and visual interest.
PRANCE’s Metal Baffle Ceilings were applied at Bole Airport to demonstrate their adaptability in large public spaces. The baffles guide spatial direction, create a sense of height, and establish visual rhythm within the ceiling. Available in various depths, colors, and spacing, the system provides architects with flexibility to meet both aesthetic and acoustic requirements in areas such as concourses and waiting lounges.
Adding another layer of textural diversity, PRANCE's Metal Great Wall and Ceiling Panels were integrated alongside Metal Baffle Ceilings in specific zones of Bole Airport. The distinct profile of the Great Wall panels introduces a robust, corrugated, or fluted visual effect, contrasting beautifully with the sleek lines of the baffles. This thoughtful combination allows for the demarcation of spaces or the creation of feature areas, enhancing the overall architectural narrative with varied metallic textures and forms.
