The round tube aluminum ceiling system was applied in the international departure lounge of Terminal 3. Inspired by Kerala’s traditional Thrissur Pooram festival, Terminal 3 is characterized by a blend of modern design and cultural elements. The terminal features 84 check-in counters and 80 immigration counters, with a spacious interior requiring high-performance, visually appealing ceiling systems. The PRANCE Round Profile Baffle Ceiling was selected for its durability, aesthetics, and ability to integrate with the terminal’s architectural vision.
Product Name: Round Profile Baffle Ceiling
Material & Finish: High-strength aluminum alloy with wood grain powder coating for a natural wood-like appearance.
Installation System: Suspended mounting using a concealed carrier system for clean linear alignment.
Key Features: Lightweight yet rigid structure; corrosion-resistant, fire-retardant, and moisture-proof. The wood grain finish provides a warm ambiance, complementing the architectural theme of the terminal.
Large-span Installation: The expansive lounge required ceiling systems with high structural stability. PRANCE used segmented prefabricated units and reinforced suspension designs to ensure safety and performance.
MEP Coordination: With extensive HVAC and lighting layouts, the ceiling system was pre-designed with reserved openings and access points to allow seamless integration with other systems.
Tight Schedule: To meet strict deadlines, all panels were pre-manufactured and delivered on-site with an experienced installation team to accelerate progress.
Complex Geometry: The curved and multi-angled roof structure demanded custom ceiling layouts. PRANCE engineers adapted the design with tailored connectors and flexible installation techniques to ensure seamless alignment.
The project image shows the clean, rhythmic layout of round aluminum tubes with a realistic wood finish. The ceiling enhances the spacious ambiance while reflecting natural light and integrating well with local cultural elements. Its aluminum construction ensures long-term durability and easy maintenance—ideal for high-traffic airport environments. The airport authorities praised the result for enhancing the comfort and visual identity of the international terminal.
